I've been watching a few Christmas Hallmark movies. I've noticed many of the characters getting hot chocolate with a candy cane in it. So tonight, I had a hallmark movie style hot chocolate. It was homemade. I had a large pioneer woman mug and about 3 tablespoons of cocoa. I sweetened it with the little bit of maple syrup I had left in my jug and a dash of honey. I then frothed the chocolate drink. I also added the last of the cream we had from the whipped cream can. We generally make our own cream, but we have recently added people to our fold that like the canned stuff better. Then I added chocolate chunks on the tope. I would have liked having a large candy cane, but I only had a small one. I think it suited my needs better, anyway. So, that's my recipe for a hallmark style hot chocolate. Oh, did I mention that I had just seen a character take a drink of one as well? Unfortunately, I do not have...
All of these birds are different birds of the same kind (obviously, right?) Anyway, can you tell a difference in each robins' face? This one is actually very calming to me. The robin is centered with a bunch of branches here. Since I've mostly been at home and now take my pictures at home, it's nice to see a sort of woodsy image, don't you think? This one is regal and bold looking. It looks as if it's marking it's territory. "I'm the owner of this tree. It seems to call out. "Look at me. I'm the best." This baby dove was found in our flower planter. The other egg never hatched. I can't remember if the mother was around or not. It startled me when I came upon the baby bird. Another baby dove landed on the ground from a tree. I tried to help it, but unfortunately did not survive. They look so much different from adult doves, don't they?
